Network of Enterprising Women 2009 Grants
N.E.W. is proud to announce its March community support award to Flagler Home at St. Joseph’s Villa by presenting a $500 check to Andriea Ukrop, Grants Specialist, St. Joseph’s Villa at the March luncheon. St. Joseph’s Villa has a distinguished history of providing human services in Richmond and Central Virginia. The Villa was established in 1834 and is one of the oldest and largest continuously operating nonprofit organizations for children and families in the United States. In 1989, in recognition of the fact that homelessness among children and families was increasing, the Villa established Flagler Home to provide transitional housing for homeless women and their dependent children. Flagler Home carries out the Villa’s mission by stabilizing families and helping them to secure housing, employment and children’s services in order to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty for future generations. This award continues the long tradition of support for Flagler Home by N.E.W. and its members.
